As a relatively new company, we know the importance of customer service, satisfaction and value for money. Crucial to your happiness, is a dedicated team of experienced and enthusiastic people.
Paul Kennedy, Managing Director and Tour Leader
Wild Atlantic Cycling was founded by Paul Kennedy, a keen cyclist and active member of North Down Cycling Club. Paul lives with his wife and two teenage sons in the coastal town of Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland. Paul has a wealth of experience organising day and multi-day cycling trips. Some of his Irish favourites include Cork and Kerry mountains, the Cooley Peninsula (County Down), Inishowen (County Donegal) and Northern Ireland's north coast. Paul has a great nose for route mapping and is always keen to find hidden gems. Having cycled extensively, Paul still believes the west coast of Ireland is hard to beat. In his spare time (when not biking) Paul loves hiking and travelling, spending time with like-minded friends and beer.
Eric Blayney, Tour Leader / Support Crew
Eric is a cycling veteran with a wealth of experience in both the racing and touring scenes. He has toured extensively on the west coast of Ireland and admits to it being one of his favourite regions for riding a bike. With extensive knowledge of the area, solid mechanical skills (he’s just built his own stainless steel bike) and a customer focussed demeanour, Eric is a marvellous addition to the team. As support crew, Eric’s responsibilities include travelling in the support vehicle to provide assistance to the Trip Leader. This involves pre-trip preparations, road-side assistance to riders, baggage transfers and basically anything that will make your time on ‘MizMal’ something to rave about. When not actually on a bike, Eric organises monthly off-road racing events at Kirkistown Racecourse on the Ards Peninsula and is a keen amateur photographer. Eric lives with his wife in Bangor, N. Ireland, and enjoys extensive travel - in particular trips to visit his son and family in Canada.
Dawn Henly, Bookings Administrator
Dawn takes care of bookings, accommodation and administration, ensuring that your overnight stays are of a good standard and dealing with general trip administration. With a background in property management, Dawn’s attention to detail is second to none. A keen cyclist herself, she spends most weekends on the roads of the Ards peninsula on the east coast of Ireland and further afield. She has taken part in many sportives, and has cycled extensively in Majorca. Dawn is also experienced with events and is on the organising team of the annual ‘North Down Coastal Challenge’ – one of the most popular and scenic cycle events in Ireland. When not on her bike, you’ll often find Dawn with a crochet needle in her hand, creating quirky products to sell in support of charity. She also loves walking her dog Charlie on the local beaches, going to the gym, spending time with friends and the odd glass of fine wine.
