Bicycle Rental
We strongly encourage you to bring your own bike - you will have a bike you know and are comfortable riding for the duration of the journey. Flying with a bike case, box or bag, checked in as special luggage is now very common and safe. And….we offer to take charge of your bike bag or box at the start of the tour and have it conveniently returned to you at the finish. If you don’t have your own bike box many local bike shops now provide very reasonably priced rental options.
Cyclists Weekly have done a great article on Best bike bags and boxes 2025: protect and transport your bike with ease while travelling (link opens in new window). It’s well worth taking a few minutes to read.
If you still prefer to rent a bike for this tour, you may try Go Cycling Portugal (link opens in new window). They have bases in both Porto (start) and Faro (finish).
E-Bikes (Battery Assist)
Occasionally we have a cyclist wishing to ride this tour on an e-bike. You need to be sure the battery will last for the duration of the day and experience of riding an e-bike is required.
